We hope that you can make it to this great event! It all goes towards a great cause and you get exposure to one of the greatest forms of all music: Jazz.

Are there any great jazz movies out there? You bet there are! If you want an introduction to jazz and want to do it through the medium of film, here are three of the greatest jazz movies.

La La Land (Damien Chazelle, 2016) – A jazz musician struggling to make a name for himself and open his own jazz bar. An actress who can’t catch a break with her auditions and wishes to create her own one-(wo)man-show. All set around the beautiful city of Los Angeles. Can the love story get any better? (If you watch this film, you may be forced to answer “No, it can’t!”).

Bird (Clint Eastwood, 1988) – Charlie Parker, also known as “The Bird,” is one of the most influential jazz artists of all time. This film shows us his ascension into the legend and the collapse of his musical and personal life as he wrestles with an addiction to narcotics.

Whiplash (Damien Chazelle, 2014) – Damien Chazelle’s debut film speaks of a fictional drummer living in New York who has only one thing on his mind: “To be one of the greats.” And his father, girlfriend, nor rather untraditional music professor will get in his way. (This director really loves jazz as you can clearly tell).
